Am I required to book my hotel stay through your official accommodation agency?
Of course you're allowed to book rooms through any service or provider you prefer, however, you do so at your own risk and we cannot guarantee the quality of service you will experience. By using the official accommodation agency, you are assured of working with a reputable company and will have local assistance should you experience any difficulties or problems during your stay. Please visit the Hotel section in this Manual to know more about Hotel Fraud.

Because of the number of rooms b network secures for MWC attendees, they're able to secure great discounts not available anywhere else. In fact, they've managed to negotiate discounted rates at many great properties around town. These discounted rates are only available through b network and are another reason to book your accommodation through the official provider.

Please note: past attendees have received e-mail offers for hotel rooms from non-official agencies and then found themselves without accommodation upon arrival. If you choose to respond to such offers please exercise caution and carefully read the cancellation policy, if any. The GSMA is unable to provide you with any assistance if you do not book through b network.

What are the rates at the conference hotel?
b network, has negotiated with the majority of the city’s hotels to provide the best possible rates to MWC attendees. b network’s rates are usually between 25% and 50% below the rates on the direct market (depending on the type of room). Visit their website to see great options now website

Where can I get a list of available hotels?
Please contact b network directly using the contact information above.

What is the cancellation policy at the hotel where I am staying?

What is this certificate for?
Platforms over 50cm height, complex structures, outdoor structures, double decks and riggings have to be inspected (before and during the build-up) by the GSMA´s stand plan inspection agencies. The aim is to ensure that all safety aspects have been taken into consideration (fire safety, structure safety, etc.) according to the organiser's rules & regulations and the Spanish Law and to make sure the structure is fit for purpose. Click here to find out more about complex structures.

Is this something new?
No, this has been always in place, however, complex rigging certification has come into force since MWC16.

I have not ordered this certificate. Why should I pay for it?
It is compulsory to have this certificate in order to ensure structural safety.

Why is this certificate compulsory?
According Spanish Law (CTE Código Técnico de la Edificación) and MWC regulations, your structure has to be inspected and certificated by our technical staff to ensure its stability and safety.

If I do not pay, what would than happen?
Our technical staff would not authorize the use of the structure.

Why this cost is not included in my package fee?
Because each structure is different and the certification is only needed if classed as a complex structure.

Should it be me or my contractor who pays for this service?
You need to agree this with your contractor, but it is common practice at all international events that complex structures require certification by authorised technicians.

My stand project has less than 10 rigging points but I am still requested to pay the certificate of stability. Why?
Only trusses with lighting and less than 10 rigging points are exempt of certification. If you have less than 10 rigging points and your flown element is different from lighting and it is heavy, it is still compulsory to have the certificate. Unless your flown element is textile with no weight and therefore no structural risk is considered.

Does receiving the certificate of stability mean that my project is approved?

No, it does not. Receiving the certificate is not the final approval. It only concerns the stability of the structure. Other factors must be considered to get the final approval.
