Shipping/Freight Forwarding & Material Handling – International

 

Exhibitors may use their own transportation company when shipping inbound and outbound to MWC20 Los Angeles.  By reading the below information it will provide important details regarding shipping (international), freight forwarding and material handling (drayage). 

 

Shipping International Before The Show – Advance Warehouse tips:

 

  • Ship your freight on time, in order for it arrive between September 15 and October 15
  • Shipping to the advance warehouse gives you the ability to track your freight and ensure that it has been received.
  • Freight will be delivered to your booth and in place when you arrive for show setup onsite

Shipping International Before The Show – Direct To Show-Site Tips:

  • When shipping to the show site, your freight may only arrive during the scheduled times of the targeted freight schedule
  • Shipments that are shipped direct to show site and arrive prior to scheduled dates and times, may be refused or incur off-target charges
  • Carriers are assigned a driver number according to their check-in time, and are unloaded based on their assigned number

  • Bill of Lading (Over the Road)
  • Airway bill (Air Freight Shipments)

Shipping International

International shipments can travel via sea or air.  Each of these types requires approved documents and time. 

Sea Freight documents required:

  • Commercial invoice / packing list
  • Bill of Lading
  • Importers Security Filing (IFS) 72 hours prior to vessel departure
  • Freight forwarding services form through the Online Event Manual

Additional Shipping Information 

 

Insurance 

We strongly recommend that all exhibitors arrange Insurance coverage to include transit to and from the exhibition while on display and in storage. Please note that EF-GSM Limited does not insure automatically unless asked to do so in writing. Please note that it is the exhibitors’ responsibility to ensure that if goods are left within the booth, adequate security measures are taken to ensure the security of such items. EF-GSM Limited is not liable for any losses, theft or pilferage.

 

Late Arrival Surcharges

Any shipments arriving after deadlines will be subject to a late arrival surcharge of an additional 30% of EF-GSM Limited official tariff.

 

Basic Conditions of Contract

All work undertaken by EF-GSM Ltd, is subject to the BIFA (British International Freight Association) terms and conditions (2017 Edition).  All invoices will be due immediately after issue without any further notice. New customers or those with whom that do not have a terms of payment agreement will be asked to pay charges prior to the start of the event, on-site during the event and/or before return shipping of their exhibits. All charges levied will be in accordance with the official exhibition tariff.

Material Handling / Drayage Services

Freeman is appointed as the official material handling / drayage contractor for this event. Freeman is responsible for freight handling at the advance warehouse (30-days prior to event opening) and on-site at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Material handling is a round trip service charge, and exhibitors are responsible for settling material handling / drayage charges directly with Freeman.  EF-GSM tariffs does not include material handling.  


Freeman Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and unloading material at the advance warehouse
  • Receiving and unloading exhibit material at show site
  • Delivering inbound freight from the dock to booth
  • Handling and storing empty containers
  • Delivering outbound freight from booth to the dock at the close of the event
